Summary: "Another great NR"

I loved this book! Purchased it out of curiosity for something other than an ID book (NR writing as JD Robb). I don't regret buying it at all. I just wish the minor character's personal lives were developed even more than they were. And the end, while still satisfying to reach a circle point for the story line, with a bit more development, it could have been better. Still, overall, an excellent book & a great Nora read.

Summary: "Well written but too bloody for me"

Once again Robert's storytelling ability is wonderful but this book was too violent for my tastes. Also I find it a little unbelievable that Ben and Willa are having this incredible and tender sex and still don't realize how they feel about each other. Maybe the sex should have come a little later in the book between these two. Nonetheless Roberts is as ever fab.

Summary: "Montana Sky"

This was my first Nora Roberts novel. I chose it after seeing the Lifetime movie version and figured there was a lot more to the story. I love the Montana area and that was a big draw. I like her style of writing. Her characters have a lot of witty banter and humor to them. This particular story is pretty gruesome though. I understand from other reviews that she generally isn't. The love scenes were intense and passionate if you like that sort of thing. I enjoyed it enough to pick up Northern Lights by her as well.

Summary: "Good read but disturbing"

The book is good but rather disturbing in parts.
My main complaints as a Montanan, is first shooting a grizzly for any reason is illegal. And then you don't keep the hide and meat. The FWP confinscate it.
2nd complaint, cowboys wear Wranglers not Levi's!
3rd complaint the author needs to learn about horse training. You do not start a yearling in the saddle unless you plan on ruining the horse for growth. Also a yearling is not up to the movements described by the author.

Summary: "eh"

This book bothered me for many reasons. The first of which, but not the most important, being that Lily, who was in an abusive marriage and recently got out of it and filed a restraining order against her ex, meets and marries someone within 9 months. I would think that an abusive relationship would make her more traumatized and more apt to be cautious when entering a new relationship.

Another irritant were her other two sisters, Willa and Tess. They, of course, fell in love with the other two hot guys in the novel, but they also learned something from them. And in return, the guys learned...oh, wait, they didn't learn anything. Aren't relationships about give and take? Learning from each other to become better people? The men, apparently, were perfect, while the women had much to learn. (It's hard to convey sarcasm in a blog...)

I'm also not a fan of points of view changing from paragraph to paragraph. I don't mind if it changes after a scene or after a chapter, but not within paragraphs. It gets too confusing when you're trying to figure out what the characters are thinking or feeling. Too much bouncing around.

This book paralleled the other book about three sisters living on (or near) a ranch that I read earlier, "True Colors". I was hoping that this one would rate a little above that one, but I'm not so sure. The characters were a bit deeper, and the mystery of the murderer helped to hold my interest, but overall the little details about the women and about relationships bugged me. I'm hoping I haven't lost my taste for romances, because some can be quite entertaining!
